Join professors Guy and Rob as they demonstrate a few partner stretches. Stretching of the hips, hamstrings, and the lower back is beneficial when it comes to Jiu-Jitsu.
One of the stretches is the split leg position. You’ll bring one foot into your thigh and the other foot will be against your partner’s knee. And vice versa for your partner. While holding each other at the hands or wrists gently pull toward you so your partner can feel the stretch. Then your partner will gently pull you. Hold the stretch for approximately 10-15 seconds.
Check out a few more stretches here:
Remember to always be gentle when stretching, whether alone or with a partner. It isn’t helpful when you overdo a stretch. The stretch should not be painful if it is STOP. By stretching a little each day, you will increase your flexibility.
