In today’s video Professors, Rob and Guy are going to demonstrate two options when your opponent stacks you while you’re attacking the armbar from the bottom position. There are a couple of counters you can do. Check out our pictorial before you move on to the video.
Step 1: Jump the Shoulder

Wrap your guard around one shoulder. Making sure your feet are crossed properly. If not, your opponent could push his shoulder back through and get back in your guard.
Step 2:

Change your Angle. Throw your leg over for the Armbar. Now, as long as you have good pressure it’s hard to be stacked. But as we all know things aren’t always perfect…
Step 3:

As you feel him starting to stack you. You’ll control his arm, hug his leg and rotate your hips.
Step 4:

Drive him back to drop his shoulder to the mat.
Next, depending on how he’ll defend, you’ll scoot your hips in, untangle his defense and fall back for the armbar. Now check out the video to get even more details.
