This is a second way to counter one of the common ways that people try to mount from side control. For this particular technique if our partner tries to switch to a reverse kesa gatame position and throw the leg over and goes to mount, there is a small window of opportunity to bridge into your partner and come up on top and end up in guard. Watch this video as Professor’s Guy and Rob demonstrate this bridging technique to the side mount escape.
This technique is taught in our 6 month BJJ Fundamentals course at Pendergrass Academy of Martial Arts.
